Abstract. Microcavity effects are used to enhance optical and electrical characteristics of OLED devices. Structures with thin Ag layers between ITO layers were modeled. The indium–metal–indium structure with 20 nm Ag showed the highest current density, increasing by ~40%. Top-emitting OLED with ZnSe capping layer exhibited maximum performance with current density up to 1.2 A/cm and 33% enhancement of electroluminescence intensity.

Keywords: ZnSe, organic light emitting diode, indium-metal-indium structure, Ag, microcavity, J–V characteristics.
